SMOOTH JAZZ TROMBONIST CLIFFORD ADAMS RELEASES ‘CLIFF NOTES’ TRENTON, N.J. – Trombonist Clifford Adams will release his debut smooth jazz solo album entitled “Cliff Notes” on September 24 via Trentown Records/Raven Entertainment Group/Orpheus Music. “Cliff Notes” is a revolutionary recording in that it is the first smooth jazz album to a feature a lead trombone. “My initial intent when conceptualizing the CD was to use the trombone as a voice to merge two genres together in a way that was palatable for the general public,” said Adams. “I wanted to include music that was spiritual, heartfelt, familiar, and danceable. I guess Duke Ellington expressed it best: ‘It don’t mean a thing if it ain’t got that swing.’ I wanted to present music that was grooving and uplifting at the same time. I feel that Cliff Notes offers music that has deep jazz roots as well as commercial overtones. My prayer is that the masses hear and feel it as well.”
